Hank Ketcham Original Signed Archive: Sketch, ALS, and Provenance
A unique personal archive from Hank Ketcham (1920–2001), the creator of Dennis the Menace. This lot features a hand-drawn pencil study sent directly from Ketcham's home in Geneva, Switzerland, to noted Spokane historian Jerome Peltier.
The Peltier Correspondence: In the included Autograph Letter Signed (ALS), dated Dec 26, 1973, Ketcham discusses his work and explains he is sending a "real original" preliminary sketch for a Dennis the Menace panel.
Lot Includes:
- Original Sketch: Hand-drawn pencil study (11" x 8.5") featuring Dennis and Margaret. Inscribed in blue ink: "For Jerry Peltier – Regards – Hank Ketcham DEC. 1973."
- Signed Letter (ALS): One page on Ketcham's personal Geneva stationery, discussing the nature of his original drawings.
- Original Envelope: Postmarked from Geneva, Switzerland, with authentic Swiss stamps and addressed to Peltier.
